Our Philosophy

play.

In regards to Children

We believe a warm, caring and home-like environment enables children to feel confident and secure to explore and develop through play and experimentation.

We believe in a multicultural, non biased approach to the integration and inclusion of children of all ages, cultural backgrounds, needs and social classes.

We believe that the children and their families culture and race are to be respected, valued and encouraged within the centre.
We believe in fostering children's self-esteem, independence and autonomy by encouraging them to make choices and explore their environment with freedom.

We believe in positive guidance and encouragement and provide opportunities for children to be involved in self-help and confidence building experiences.

We view all children as capable learners, confident to direct their own learning.

Family & Community

We believe that families input into the programme is the stem to the children’s learning, Educators are the leaves who help support and scaffold the children’s learning, which then in turn makes the children blossom into flowers.

We believe in working collaboratively with families to works towards to achieving common goals and value the input in the general operations of the centre.

We value and respect all families of different cultures, race, religion and abilities.

We believe in the value of the wider community. We offer opportunities for the community to be involved in the Inner West Kids program by inviting different people and services into the Centre to discuss the local community.

We believe this offers the children a broader community perspective.
